This story just brings to life the feeling I have always had that the greatest impact on our lives might never be known as such; but the "hidden" people are the people who can show us what it is like to be really human, compassionate, caring. If only the stock boy had lived longer, who knows how many other lives he would have affected in his own special way.

I wonder whether the author ever confronted the boss about his rude remarks. I bet he feels terrible for having been so mean to the boy.
